The gas meter regulates and tracks the gas used in your home.

The gas meter should only be altered/moved by the gas utility company.

The Gas Off valve regulates, directs, and controls the flow of gas to your home. When turned parallel (same way) with the line, the gas is flowing. When the valve is perpendicular (opposite) to the gas line, the gas is off.

The most common way to detect a natural gas leak is if you smell a rotten egg smell, either
inside your home, or in the yard around your home. If you think you smell a natural gas
leak:
• leave the home or area immediately
• DO NOT use any electrical switches, appliances, telephones, motor
vehicles, or cigarette lighters or matches

NONE. Gas lines are generally not a concern. Due to the hazards associated with natural gas, the lines are almost always deficiency free.
