Concrete On Grade

Customer-Care-Resouces - 9

When large areas of concrete are being poured, and the concrete begins to harden, there is a reduction in the material, and this can lead to cracking of the concrete. Concrete Control Joints are placed in concrete slabs to control random cracking. By using these control joints in pre-determined locations, this will lessen the amount of cracks that will inevitably occur on your driveway and sidewalk.  Please note that it takes 30 days for the concrete on your driveway to cure.  Foot traffic on newly poured concrete can be permitted after 24 hours.  Vehicles should not drive or park on new concrete for 28 days from pour date.

Cracking – Due to soil conditions and large temperature differences throughout the year in Saskatchewan cracks in concrete on grade is to be expected and are not covered by warranty.
