Breakers (Electrical Panel)
The breaker panel is the component of an electricity supply system which divides an electrical power feed into subsidiary circuits, while providing a protective fuse or circuit breaker for each circuit in a common enclosure.
Breakers are the electrical switches designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overload or short circuit. It’s function is to detect a fault condition and interrupt the flow. This can be se-set to resume normal operation.
Frequent tripping of breakers is the most common concern. The first thing to check is the appliance that is plugged in – try a different appliance to see if the problem persists. If the problem persists, contact Pacesetter Homes Warranty to arrange a visit by the electrician.
NOTE: Some appliances draw a lot of power upon start up. A slight dimming of lights is usually not a concern as long as the lights return to normal conditions quickly. Hair dryers and vacuum cleaners are examples of appliances that have a large power draw. Too many appliances on a circuit at one time may cause the breaker to trip.
